The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, formerly known as the Prime Minister of Great Britain until 1801, is the head of government of the United Kingdom, who directs both the executives and the legislature, and together with the Cabinet are collectively accountable for his policies and action to the Monarch, to Parliament, to their political party and ultimately to the electorate.
