Margaret "Maggie" Asher (November 16, 1972 – December 25, 2011) was the wife of Benjamin Asher, 45th President of the United States and the First Lady under his administration. She was tragically killed in a car accident, which he was witness to.
Early Life and First Lady Career
Margaret was born in the United States on November 16, 1972. At an unknown point in time, Margaret married Benjamin and then gave birth to Connor Asher. When Benjamin became the 45th President of the United States, she became the First Lady under his administration.
On December 25, 2011, while traveling in a limo, President Asher and Margaret were involved in a car accident. Though Asher attempted to save her, he was pulled from the car by Secret Service agent Mike Banning. The car then plummeted to the frozen river below, killing her on impact, leaving everyone horrified at the loss.
Margaret's death left a scar on the Asher family. Connor tried to avoid going to Camp David because it left behind the bad memory of his mother and Benjamin, despite his persistence to move on and continue his presidency, was still scarred by Margaret's death. Her death also impacted Mike's career in the Secret Service. Mike was removed from the Presidential Detail because he reminded Benjamin of the night that Margaret died. As a result, Mike blamed himself and was haunted by his failure to save Margaret for eighteen months. However, her death was a redeeming moment for Mike's career when the White House was besieged on July 5, 2013. Having saved President Asher and America from Kang Yeonsak due to his perseverance and determination to make up for Margaret's death, Mike was reinstated into the Presidential Detail.
